| Children's Day in Bialoleka... Making a Difference! |

Everyday children are born, into all types of circumstances and a variety of family situations. Everyday they must live, learn and cope with the situation they find themselves in. Many are blessed to have the help, love and care of families and others around them to hopefully succeed and enjoy the life they are given. Unfortunately there are many who do not have the help which should be there for them.
Due to the nature of our work of the Christian Radosc Foundation, it is just such kids that we seek to minister to and serve, hopefully making a real difference in their lives. This past Saturday we had the opportunity, in a real tangible way, to bring joy and hope to a group of children who find themselves on the ‘unfair’ side of life.
Here in Poland, June 1st is children’s day and around this time families, schools, churches, shopping centers and numerous others take time to celebrate this day with a wide verity of special events and programs. The Foundation took this opportunity to prepare and offer such an event at a Single Mother’s home located in the Bialoleka section of Warsaw. At this “less than ideal” facility, once housing for workers of nearby factories, live over 150 kids of various ages, along with their mothers, it was here that we tried to bring some hope and care and remind them that they are not forgotten.
In the past few years several of these kids have been invited and were able to attend camps offered by the CRF so it was a great pleasure and privilege for us to be invited to go out to them, where they live, and share this special day with them.
It was great to see the familiar faces of kids previously met at camps, and they were of course excited to see us as well. But it was also a wonderful chance to have contact with their parents and other adults who were present.
Our group of 15 arrived in two vans, filled with instruments, and other supplies for a fun filled afternoon. In addition we towed with us two trailers filled with packages for each child. After a short time to set things up in the shade of some large trees, we started with a few songs, basically giving an open-air worship concert to all who could hear. It was a great chance to witness to the parents as well as bring back fun memories for the kids who “rushed the stage” to sing along just as they had at camp.
One of the highlights, especially for the kids, was the chance to pass out packages personally created with them in mind filled with sweets, toys, books and even items of clothing. This always helps the children feel special and wanted as well as helping to meet practical needs they might have.
Since the Foundation depends completely on the support and help of volunteers, this opportunity was also a great blessing for us as we saw dozens of people come together to help create these more than 150 presents. From the local Bank Branch who’s employees put together 120 of them, to the High School Teacher who personally provided for about 30 packages as a result of a class project, it was awesome to see so many individuals offering this very real and practical help that went so far in making this a very special day for all the kids at Bialoleka.
