Christmas Surprise in Radosc |

A Christmas “Surprise”
comes to Radosc.

This past Friday, December 16, we had a wonderful opportunity to deepen our co-operation with the Center for Social Assistance (OPS) in Wawer, a district here in Warsaw. Together we watched with great JOY as nearly 200 children, along with parents, responded to a joint invitation to attend a “Christmas Pageant”, organized at local Primary school # 140 in Radosc, where each child received a festive Christmas parcel! (Donated through “Samaritan’s Purse”)

These fortunate children and their families were joined as well by staff members from the OPS office, volunteers from the Christian Radosc Foundation (CRF), and special guests from Church “Berea” in the community of Otwock, who prepared the Holiday program.

The group sang and led Christmas carols and recited Bible verses, reminding us of the most important element of Christmas: the birth of Jesus, who came to rescue the world from sin.

This time for these families was enjoyed this time as a result of being on the list of dependents living in the Wawer district of Warsaw, who each month receive food assistance through the EU program PEAD, distributed by the CRF..

On Friday morning, we even received a call from the Trustee of one Single Mothers Home, asking if it might be possible to have help providing Christmas parcels for the children from this shelter. Without hesitation we invited them to the party later that day. All of them were able to attend and received their presents!

Earlier we also received a call from a father of six children with a similar request. We are so grateful that we were also able to invite these children and it is our great hope that we will be inviting many of these children to one of our summer camps in 2012.

A special thank-you to everyone, who by working together, helped to bring HOPE and JOY to these needy children this Christmas!
