Enthusiasm to serve Him…

Swietajno Camp Aug. 22 – 26, 2011

On the journey there, we were all nervous about the week ahead, but as we drove in and saw the children’s smiling faces, the Lord took away all fear and gave us an enthusiasm to serve Him.

We ran seven different workshops everyday including sport, games, art, English classes, worksheets and much more fun!

We loved spending this time to get to know the kids and we soon realised that the language barrier was not going to be as big a problem as we thought it would be – you don’t need to know Polish to be able to throw a basket ball around for half an hour!

Every morning and evening there were meetings in the church when we were able to share the gospel with the kids and tell them about Christ through our testimonies, favourite verses or the Bible story.

They were very enthusiastic singers and taught us the words and actions to some Polish songs, although I’m sure our Polish didn’t sound too good!

It was a blessing to my own heart to find out that some of the kids I’d got friendly with over the week were Christians – one boy simply said “Jezus” and pointed to his heart...

At the end of the week some of the children got up to the front and gave their lives to Christ – that is what made the whole trip worthwhile!

We were extremely sad to leave at the end of the week, but I’m sure many of us will be back to visit again soon!
