We arrived in Krakow on Sunday afternoon and headed straight to Wisla to the camp centre. When we arrived we settled in before the children came, had a quick supper and headed to bed ready for camp to begin in the morning.

The camp program consisted of getting up, having breakfast all together then our morning meeting. The morning meeting had songs, both English and Polish, testimony or favourite verse from a leader, a story and a quiz.

After the meeting we had a morning activity, lunch then afternoon activity. After dinner we had our evening meeting and a few games afterwards before the children went to bed. Each night all the leaders joined together for reflection and prayer. This was basically the outline for each day.

The meetings went really well during the week, the morning meetings were about items in a pencil case for example God’s love is so vast you can not measure it with a ruler. The evening meetings were on the adventures of Paul, how he saw God on the Damascus road and how he travelled around telling the gospel to both the Jews and the Gentiles. In both of these meetings we as a team could tell that the children listened well mainly because they took part well in the quiz and got the answers right.

The main activity was the workshops; these consisted of sports, crafts, English, music and ‘surprise’. These lasted for 3 hours in total, 25 minutes for each workshop with a break in the middle. The children seemed to enjoy each of these workshops as they participated well in each of them. We, as a team, all enjoyed this time as we got to know the children more and build relationships with each of them.

Other activities that we did included a walk to the waterfall near the camp, a chair lift up a mountain which also included a short walk through the forest bringing us to the border of Poland and Czech Republic. We also had a horse and cart trail up to a cabin where we ate polish sausages and spent more time with the children. The last day we all walked into Wisla to explore and spent time at a small theme park.

On the last night we had an evangelism night, the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) worker of Poland came and talked to the children about the love of Christ and how they needed to accept Christ as their Saviour. After this talk Henryk asked if any child wanted to accept Christ to come to the front, about 40 children did this. It was amazing to see and all we could say that night at the team meeting was Praise the Lord! 8 This week was an amazing week, which we all enjoyed as a team. We were able to build relationships with the children and help them know the good news of how Jesus can be their personal Saviour and friend.

Youth Socio-Therapy Centre “Jedrus”

23rd June, Jozefow, Poland

To: Mr Henryk Podsiadly, President of the “Radosc Foundation”

On behalf of the children of “Jedrus” I would like to wish you and your co-workers our heart-felt thanks for the organisation of the school excursion in Wisla

The great gesture has convinced us that your hearts are great, full of feeling, good and open to the needs of others. I thank you that we were able to visit some beautiful parts of our country, that we were able to join in many interesting activities which would not have been possible with the finances of our organisation and the finances of the families of the children which we support.

This wonderful adventure will live long in the memories of the children of “Jedrus” and it has also helped the adults realise that in our work we can also count on the help of others.

The amazingly well organised trip and the simply unparalleled gift of the work of your volunteers will become an example of us to follow.

I hope we will be able to continue this partnership, again with many thanks.

Sent with our greatest respect.

Director of the “Jedrus” centre.
