The first weekend in May 2010 was an event I will never forget, nor will the other 8 people that joined this discipleship weekend for older youth. The theme, the goal of it, was to open your heart, get closer to God and to know Him better.

      Personally I can say that many people there experienced a direct encounter with God and the love which Jesus surrounded us with throughout the entire weekend, me included.

      I saw how God breaks our fears and how He helps us to win new friends. For example, during the meals we had the possibility to get to know new people as we sat each time in a new place and during games in the free time.  

      All of this not only built us up, but also allowed us to come closer to each other and change our attitudes. Late night walks helped us unite ourselves before God.

      Also, there was one evening that reminded us of Poland during the communist era. All teams had to prepare a commercial, a song, or a sketch. It was very funny because everybody had to be dressed according to the fashion of that time period.

       It was a very good time to build relations amongst ourselves and I have to say that this entire weekend in Narewka would not have had this great flavor if not for the lectures and workshops held throughout the 3 day event, they were the highlight. Also, the worship was amazing, when we could listen to what Gad had to say to each one of us personally.

      Good food, great times, some disciplining actions (ha ha), new stronger friendships and Words that reached the bottoms of our hearts; God loves us and wants us closer to Him and to know Him better and better.

       This discipleship weekend in May 2010 – “a recovery for the flesh, food for the spirit….” We need more and more such events; they are so needed for young people to grow In the Lord Jesus Christ.
