This week has been one of the most amazing weeks of my life. I have had the priviledge of serving God in the Country of Poland and have been really blessed personally. A group of seven of us travelled from Northern Ireland to Wista for a camp with around sixty children.

We met Larry and Bobby-Joe from America there and they became vital members of our team. We divided up the talks, which were given to the children in the morning and the evening and these consisted of the stories from creation to the crucifixion. We tried to emphasise through these talks that Jesus loves every child and let them know that God really wants a personal relationship with everyone. We also held different workshops for the children, each day. These included Bible and prayer, beauty, arts and crafts, cooking, dance and sports, which the children seemed to really enjoy. In the afternoon we had free time in which we tried to get to know the children personally. We also had several activities including going to the swimming pool, playing social games, hiking in the mountains and shopping in the nearby town. During the week one problem that I really struggled with was the language barrier. I found it quite frustrating sometimes not being able to speak to the children. However I was reminded that it was God that had created different languages at the Tower of Babel and it was amazing to find God helped us solve it. Sometimes, words are not necessary¸ a wave, hug or even a smile can mean so much more sometimes.
Another way I felt God really working was through disruptive, shy or quiet children. Many children would not take part in the meetings or workshops at the beginning of the week, and a few insisted on continually fighting, but by the end of the week we could see a dramatic change in many of the children. This really showed me the power of God and His word in transforming and changing lives. All things are possible through God, and so often we forget this.
On the Friday night, Larry spoke and challenged the children about their spiritual state. Many responded by going to the front for prayer and I believe many of these children were genuinely saved that night. The atmosphere in the camp after this was amazing. We could see that lives had clearly been transformed and this was such a blessing to us.
Therefore I believe the camp was a huge success and we are continually thanking God for what He done this week. We want to thank all the polish leaders for the fantastic work they do and hope that God will continue to bless them in their ministry. Our special thanks goes to Henryk, Jim and Dorota who have been such an encouragement. See you next year, God willing!
